Sixteen celebrities from the worlds of sports and entertainment have come to fight for money for their charities, along with the title of "Celebrity Apprentice."
Sixteen new celebrities join Donald Trump in brining the second season of The Celebrity Apprentice to NBC. Participants from the sports world include Poker Champion Annie Duke, NBA Star Dennis Rodman, Heisman Trophy Winner Hershel Walker, Golf Champion Natalie Gulbis, and Figure Skating Champion Scott Hamilton. Participants from the entertainment world include Comedian Andrew Dice Clay, R&B Singer Brian McKnight, Playboy Playmate Brande Roderick, Country Music Star Clint Black, Deal or No Deal Model Claudia Jordan, TV Star Jesse James, Comedienne Joan Rivers, Reality TV Star Khloe Kardashian, TV Host Melissa Rivers, Comedian Tom Green, and R&B Singer Tionne Watkins. Teams Choose Leaders and NamesAs the first episode begins, Donald Trump greets the new players at the site of the USS Intrepid. The location is a nod to last season's winner, Piers Morgan, who raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for his charity, the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Teams are divided into male and female contestants. The groups are charged with choosing a team leader and coming up with a name for their team. For the women, Joan Rivers volunteers to be leader, and urges her team not to waste too much time on choosing a name. After a short discussion the name Athena is chosen. The men kick around several choices before settling on the name KOTU, which stands for "Kings of the Universe." Scott Hamilton suggests that Hershel Walker lead the team, and he happily agrees. Cupcakes for CharityThe first challenge is finally announced. They will work with chefs from the Institute for Culinary Education to create, bake, and sell cupcakes. The team that sells the most cupcakes for the most amount of money will win. On KOTU, Tom Green encourages his teammates to contact their celebrity friends in an effort to raise money. Andrew Dice Clay chooses not to participate in the baking process, while Jesse James and Brian McKnight work on the design of the truck. After the cupcakes have been baked it is determined that someone forgot to add sugar to the mix. The cupcakes taste horrible. $15,000 Taste TestDonald Trump calls each team to inform them that an impromptu taste test will take place, with the winner receiving an additional $15,000 in winnings. The women easily won the taste test. Team Athena also brought in $61,267 while KOTU raised $49,449. Even without the taste test victory, the women's team easily won the challenge. Overall they raised $126,000 which will be given to Joan Rivers' charity, God's Love We Deliver. The First Celebrity is FiredIn the boardroom, Project Manager Hershel Walker brings Dennis Rodman and Andrew Dice Clay back to face Mr. Trump. Dice hints that he might like to quit, and Trump fires him instead. Next week: The teams must create an original comic book character.
